Consulting

The Occupational Therapist plays a significant role in medico-legal, medical negligence and disability insurance assessments, by commenting on a client's physical, functional, and vocational compromise arising from disability or injury.

Functional capacity evaluations, work capacity evaluations and job analysis further highlight a worker's abilities and limitations, and form a necessary component of the return to work process. Work site consultations may in addition to the above be required to identify environmental accessibility; and for assistance with job re-alignment, job modifications, and reasonable accommodations to enable workers with disabilities to enjoy equal employment opportunities. The Occupational Therapist can also play a vital role in return to driving following an injury or onset of disability. The OT Driving assessment looks at both cognitive and physical abilities and the Occupational Therapist can also advise on vehicle adaptations.
